Hold on to your seats, beer lovers! The famous Irish stout, Guinness, has taken the UK by storm and has officially become the most popular pint in Britain! Diageo, the owner of Guinness, recently announced in their first-half fiscal results that the iconic beer has overtaken Carling for the first time.
According to reports, Guinness now accounts for one in every nine pints pulled in the UK, and has been making waves across Europe with its strong performance. Diageo’s CFO, Lavanya Chandrasheka, explained that the brand’s continued success is due to its ability to resonate with consumers, resulting in a resilient sales performance.
But that's not all! Guinness beat Carling to the top spot, becoming the number one beer in British pubs in terms of value sales towards the end of last year. Ivan Menezes, the CEO of Diageo, expressed his excitement during an analysts' conference call, saying "I never believed I’d see this day. It’s fantastic. The brand is really healthy."
